Explosion Proof Heaters
Larson Electronics has a very extensive line of explosion proof heaters, with a variety of models, mounting options, and voltages, all rated for hazardous locations where the possibility of explosions or fires is present. Multiple models come with T2 (280ºC) and T3 (180ºC) temperature ratings and single or three phase options.
When it comes to choosing the correct size for your application, you will need to determine your total heating requirement with the following equation:
1. Measure the square footage of the area you intend to heat.
2. Find your heating zone by looking at a heating zone climate map, and the wattage per square foot needed for that zone.
3. Multiply the total number of square feet you intend to heat by the wattage per square foot based off your heating zone.
We offer both convector and fan-forced explosion proof heaters. The convector heaters are significantly quieter than fan heaters, which makes them ideal for spaces where excess noise is unwanted or may be distracting. Our explosion proof convector heaters are Class 1, Group B, C & D Division 1 & 2 rated for hazardous environments, and available in single phase and three phase models with T2 and T3 temperature ratings, and 208-480 voltage options. All standard convectors are NEMA 4 rated. Our fan-forced heaters are quieter, and a more energy efficient option. They are Class I, Group C & B, Division I & 2, as well as Class II, Group F & G, Divisions 1 & 2 rated. Our fan-forced heaters are available in 3-25 kW models and voltage options: 208, 240, 480 and 600 in selected capacities. You can choose between single phase and three phase units – All standard units include disconnect switches, pilot lights and thermostats.
We also offer a variety of mounting options for the standard explosion proof units including: wall mounts- useful in buildings that have substantial walls and can only be bolted directly to structural steel, pole mounts - useful in buildings that do not have sufficient strength for wall or pendant mounting, and pendant mounts for buildings that have roofs, or overhead structures with adequate strength. All our mounted heaters are Class I, Group C & B, Division I & 2, as well as Class II, Group F & G, Divisions 1 & 2 rated, available in 3-25 kW models and 208, 240, 480 and 600 voltage options in selected capacities. Single phase and three phase options are also available.
We also have portable explosion proof heaters mounted on sturdy carts with ski pockets and anti-static casters for easy transportation. These are ideal for providing seasonal heating in hazardous locations, and are available in single or three phase, 3-25 kW models, with voltage options of 208, 240, 480 and 600 in selected capacities.
Our explosion proof heaters come in either single phase or three phase models. Single phase models are available in 3-10 kW with 120-600 volts, with T2 and T3 temperature ratings. Our three phase models provide 1.732 times more power with the same current, and are available in 3-25 kW with 208-600 volts. Both models are Class 1, Group C & D Division 1 & 2, and Class II, Group E, F and G, Divisions I and 2 rated, and can be pole, wall, pendant or cart mounted.
