The Larson Electronics LM-SMXB-EPL-30-14-4X150RT-LED-E2E-2KLBS explosion proof three-stage light plant provides a safe and effective way for operators to quickly deploy 600 watts of intense lighting to elevations up to thirty feet in hazardous locations. This unit supports the following explosion proof ratings: Class I, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups C, D; Class II, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups E, F, G; and Class III. The light tower features a rotating boom that allows for 360° of rotation, a removable mast head for storing mounted equipment, 4-corner skid pockets for easy transportation, and input/output whips for daisy chaining multiple units. The LM-SMXB-EPL-30-14-4X150RT-LED-E2E-2KLBS explosion proof three-stage telescoping steel light mast is designed to quickly and safely deploy 600 watts of intense LED lighting in hazardous locations. This light boom can be extended to 30` for maximum area coverage and collapsed/folded over to 14` for applications where a smaller footprint is required. The 120V or 250V unit (select the preferred voltage below) comes with four, 150-watt explosion proof LED fixtures at the head of the mast, which is capable of emitting a cool white light with 70,000 lumens and color temperature of 5,000K. The beam configuration of the light tower may either be 60 degrees (for wide flood lighting requirements) or 125 degrees (for extreme wide area lighting requirements).
This explosion proof LED tower features two junction boxes: one at the top of the mast for combined power and one at the base of the mast. Operators may daisy chain multiple units together using 2` input and output whips for additional lighting power. The LM-SMXB-EPL-30-14-4X150RT-LED-E2E-2KLBS is constructed of square steel tubing with a lower section 11.27` in length and 4" by 4" by 1/8" thick, middle section 10.73` in length and 3" by 3" by 1/8" thick, and an upper section 10.63` and 2" by 2" by 1/8" thick. Each section has a 1` overlap minimum. The mast is elevated using an included 2,500 lbs manual winch.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current applied and emitting light. With LED lights, there is no warm up time or cool down time before re-striking and provide instant illumination when powered on, adding to the reliability of LED technology. By nature, LED light sources run significantly cooler than traditional lamps, reducing the chance of accidental burns and increased temperatures due to heat emissions. This solid state design of light emitting diodes provides a more reliable, stable, durable, and energy efficient light source over traditional lighting.
Technology: The explosion proof LED light fixture features multiple LED drivers which helps to increase the operational life of the fixture. With traditional LED lights, in the event an LED array or driver fails, the entire fixture no longer illuminates. This new series of LED lamps contains twelve individual LED boards configured in a series of banks. Each bank contains two LED boards with an individual driver. In the event of a driver failure, only one bank of LEDs will be effected while the other banks will continue to operate. In the event that of an LED failure, the mating LED will continue to operate.
Fixture Adjustment: Each explosion proof LED lamp is securely fastened to the light boom`s mast head, and each lamp includes an adjustable trunnion U-bracket to help maintain lamp stability within its housing. This trunnion mount bracket allows the light to be vertically adjusted 180°, allowing operators to position the light straight upwards or straight downwards. Each light head can be adjusted independently, providing maximum coverage of the work environment. The trunnion mount is attached to the mast head via a single thru-bolt, allowing for horizontal positioning of each light fixture. This allows operators to cover areas to the side and behind the skid mast tower instead of only in front of the unit.
Tower Base: The tower and assembly is powder coated with glossy blue finish for corrosion resistance and aesthetics. This 3-stage mast features a cube mast-style weighted base and is bolted onto a 1" thick steel base plate. Eight skid pockets on all four corners allow this unit to be picked up from all four sides. 4-corner eyelets for crane transport. A manual 2,500-lb winch is available for deployment.
The LM family of telescoping towers feature a proprietary mast guidance system, which provide increased stability during high winds. This light plant system can withstand winds up to 125+ mph when lowered to 14`, and up to 55 mph when fully extended. When elevated to its full upright position, the mast can be rotated a full 360°. By loosening the T-Handle, operators can rotate the mast with easy in either direction. The mast can be positioned in one of four different directions, and locked back in place by re-tightening the T-handle. The mast itself spins freely with ease, and can typically be rotated with a single hand.
Larson Electronics can custom tailor these units to the customer`s requirements with longer sections and larger mounting plates. For example, the LM-25 is another model that reaches to a length of 25 feet, with a 15 foot lower section and a 10 foot upper section and a 4 foot wide upper mounting bracket. We also offer a choice of either the manual 1,000 lbs hand winches included standard or optional electric winches.
Wiring and Plug: The explosion proof LED light plant comes with a 16/3 chemical and abrasion resistant SOOW cord for connection with a compatible power source. Operators may daisy chain several units together for additional lighting power using 2` input and output whips.
