Larson Electronics Releases Metal Halide Light Tower, 4,000 Watts, 6kW Diesel Generator, 23’ Tower (3/18/2024)

Kemp TX: Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of a metal halide mobile light tower powered by a liquid-cooled diesel-powered engine turning a 6,000-watt generator. This unit features four 1,000-watt metal halide lamps on top of a 23-foot rotating mast that can illuminate a six- to seven-acre area without refueling for up to 60 hours.

The WCDE-6-4MHL-PNTL-MOD1 metal halide light tower features a 10-horsepower Kubota diesel engine that operates at 1,800 rpm with a four-position keyed switch, hour meter and glow plugs (preheat, off, run and start). This unit features a 40-gallon fuel tank that allows the engine to operate for 60 hours without refueling. This light tower is equipped with a 45 Ah, 390 CCA battery and is capable of producing 120V current at 60hz.

Larson Electronics’ metal halide light tower package contains one 20-amp 120V GFI duplex receptacle and features four 1,000-watt metal halide bulbs attached to the end of the three-stage light mast. These lights produce a wide flood light pattern that can illuminate five to seven acres of area. Each light features a round aluminum reflector, tempered glass lens, silicone gaskets and On/Off switches. A 15-amp control panel operates this unit and the tower can extend to 23 feet via a self-braking winch.

This unit can be rotated 359˚ and is equipped with a manual mast break (winch). The telescoping boom is made of tubular steel and features a lifting eye, fork sockets, an automatic locking system, and a cord that can coil and retract. The operating components are housed in a 14-gauge steel compartment and the unit is mounted on a trailer. Suitable applications include construction sites, outdoor events, emergency camps, perimeter lighting, and more.
