Larson Electronics Releases 20-Amp Explosion Proof Fixture/Extension Cord Plug with Twist Lock (3/15/2024)

Kemp TX: Larson Electronics, a Texas-based company with over 40 years of experience spearheading the industrial lighting and equipment sectors, announced the release of an explosion proof plug rated at 20 amps that is compatible with Larson Electronics’ EPO-20A explosion proof 20-amp outlet when coupled with the EPP-20A series plug. This unit can only be used in T-style outlets and must be mated to an explosion proof outlet.

The EPP-20A-3FT-1P-TWL explosion proof extension cord plug fixture is watertight and rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups B, C and D; Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Group G; and Class III hazardous locations. This 20-amp rated plug is made of non-sparking aluminum with a longer housing for easy handling and brass pins for secure full-length pin contact. This cord is approved for hot work permit applications allowing operators to use their non-explosion proof equipment within an explosion proof environment.

Larson Electronics’ explosion proof extension cord will fit non-explosion proof standard receptacles (NEMA 5-15R, 5-20R, and 6-20R and will work with Course Hind ENR Dead Front Interlocked receptacles. This plug is ideal for applications where moisture and corrosion is an issue with other suitable applications including manufacturing, industrial, warehouses, wet and marine areas, manufacturing environments, and more.
