Roof mount lights, cabinet mount lights and surface mount lights

Basically, any light that needs to be mounted on top of some surface and controlled from below that surface.

Roof mount lights work on all vehicles. Before selecting a roof mount light, calculate the thickness of the surface you are mounting the light to. You will need at least 6 inches of post plus the thickness of the mounting surface.

All consumer vehicles can use the RFM-7 roof mount light. Specialty installations in carts, tankers, etc. will require the longer models.

Roof mount lights are the easiest to install of all the post mount controlled lights. The installer can select the height of the light by simply positioning the post within the mounting bracket. Once you are happy with the amount of roof mount light exposed (height above the vehicle) and the amount of post exposed for the handle (easy reach within the truck), you simply secure the post within the bracket at that height.

Roof mount lights cover more area than post mount lights, because they operate from a more central, elevated position.
