Buck-boost transformers are machine components that increase (boost) or decrease (buck) line voltage to meet certain power requirements (as an autotransformer, according to 2008 NEC Handbook Section 210.9). By adjusting the line voltage in small amounts, around 5 to 20 percent, these units can help improve performance and lifespan of industrial equipment. During operation, buck-boost transformers offer protection from critical equipment failures, as the power source is isolated from the connected unit. Lower heat emissions and energy usage allows businesses using buck-boost transformers to benefit from lower monthly energy bills.

Larson Electronics offers the following types of buck-boost transformers: single phase, three phase delta and three phase wye. It is important to select the right type of device for your equipment, since this type of transformer cannot convert phases, provide circuit isolation or the use of a neutral. The buck-boost transformers available on our site are designed for indoor and outdoor use, meeting NEMA 3R guidelines and exceeding NEMA ST-20 standards. NEMA 4, NEMA 4X, and NEMA 12 enclosures are available upon request. These units are also UL Listed for the United States and CSA Certified for Canada.

At Larson Electronics, we do more than meet your lighting needs. We also provide replacement, retrofit, and upgrade parts as well as industrial grade power accessories. Our craftsmen can custom build any lighting system and/or accessories to fit the unique demands of your operation. A commitment to honesty, quality, and dependability has made Larson Electronics a leader in the lighting and electronics business since 1973.
