Machine visioning is a process in which computer vision is applied to the process of development, production and manufacturing. There has been explosive growth in the use of machine visioning because it posses the ability to perform inspection applications far more quickly and with a much lower number of errors than that of a human. Although much more efficient, this process requires high intensity and quality illumination to make up for the reduced sensitivity of the cameras and sensors that are being expended.
