Explosion Proof LED Flashlight - 4 Watt - Push Button Switch - 100 Lumens - IP67 Waterproof
Part # EXP-LED-F4W Price:
Hoja de Especificaciones
Made in the USA
The EXP-LED-F4W from Larson Electronics is an Intrinsically Safe LED Flashlight that is designed to handle the demands of working within hazardous locations and environments where potentially explosive vapors, gases and other volatile compounds may be encountered. The non-slip engineered polypropylene nylon case on this intrinsically safe LED flashlight is superior to standard aluminum or steel flashlights due to the fact that it will not become slippery or lose grip even when operators have greasy or oily hands. This ergonomic and tactical intrinsically safe LED flashlight features a knurled design to offer operators a superior gripping surface for maximum control of the approximately 560 foot long beam of light this flashlight is capable of projecting.
This intrinsically safe LED flashlight produces a powerful 100 lumen light beam that can illuminate objects up to 560 feet away from the operator. The main beam from this compact and lightweight LED flashlight is tightly focused to produce a far reaching beam of bright white light. This LED flashlight is versatile, rugged and can serve in industrial, public and tactical applications with ease. Rated IP67 waterproof for submersion in up to one meter of water and a one meter drop rating make this intrinsically safe LED flashlight ideal for a wide range of rough use conditions and environments that may be hazardous or potentially explosive.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.
LED lights run at significantly cooler temperatures than traditional metal halide and high pressure sodium lights and contain no harmful gases, vapors, or mercury, making them both safer and more energy efficient. No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
The spot beam of this LED flashlight is actuated via a push button switch for easy accessibility. The high intensity LED used in this flashlight produces 100 lumens of light each and offers a 30,000 hour lifespan. The high efficiency LED produces a 26 hour runtime on a single set of three AA batteries when operating the light beam. The housing is constructed of lightweight and chemical resistant polypropylene nylon that offers superior chemical resistance and high durability. This LED flashlight is impact and vibration resistant and is IP67 waterproof. This intrinsically safe flashlight is approved Class I, Divisions 1 & 2, Groups A, B, C, D, Class II Division 1 Groups E, F and G, Class II Division 2 Groups F and G, and Class III.
Durability: The EXP-LED-F4W LED flashlight features a durable polypropylene nylon housing and a knurled ergonomic design that offers operators a high level of grip and gives the flashlight a high degree of durability. This flashlight is impact resistant from heights up to 1 meter and vibration resistant so that if a drop does occur the light is unlikely to withstand any damage. An IP67 waterproof ratings further adds to the durability and versatility of this intrinsically safe LED flashlight.

Modern Mining Lights: From Birds to Flames to LEDs
It wouldn’t be until 1902 that practical electrical lamps were introduced in mines and removed the need for open flames. Electrical lamps greatly reduced the possibility of fires and explosions, but again, by today’s standards they were hardly safe. Early electric lamps got hot, the batteries were unwieldy and leaked acids, and shattered bulbs and shorted wires were all too capable of causing an accident. By the 1930’s electric lighting was the only mine lighting in use, although the older Davy [...]
IECex/ATEX and North American NEC HAZLOC Equipment Classification
North America is presently not operating with the IECex/ATEX schemes although some effort has been made to produce some homogenity between North American and European Standards, most notably the US and Canada's adoption of a Zone system (NEC 505) modeled after European Schemes. However, despite the great similarity between North American and European Zone systems, they are not identical and are not interchangeable.
Modern Military Spotlights: Versatile Lightweight Power
Rechargeable spotlights and flashlights have become an increasingly important part of military operations. As recently as ten years ago military personnel in the field were forced to rely on personal lighting equipment that had very short operational times due to high energy consumption. This required the further addition of up to twenty pounds of batteries to keep them operational during a full mission deployment of ten days. [...]
LED Flashlights: Lightening the Soldiers Load
Modern technology has completely changed the way warfare is waged today. LEDs and HIDs have made the incandescent spotlight/flashlight obsolete and infrared illumination has gone higher tech with the addition of LED based IR emitters that remove the need for filters or special lenses. All of this technology, however, comes with a price. [...]
Infrared Light and CCD Based Digital Cameras
When most of us think of night vision devices we usually picture the elaborate electronic headgear or special cameras used by military personnel. We usually assume the technology is complicated and the price exorbitant and so we also assume that attractive as being able to see in the dark may be, its beyond the realm of us mere mortals. [...]
How Do You Know If a Light is really Explosion Proof?
Hazardous location lighting equipment is in the simplest explanation used in places where concentrations of volatile gases, flammable dust or particulates, or flammable chemicals are high enough to present a danger of ignition that can lead to explosion or fire. [...]
Explosion Proof and Intrinsically Safe: Different Methods, Same Goals
Deciding on the proper lighting for a particular work location can result in some unexpected confusion. Although many people understand that the presence of flammable or volatile materials and gases present a hazard, they do not understand the nature of equipment that must be used in such locations. [...]
The All-Around Performance of LED Flashlights
Choosing a flashlight has become a great deal more complicated since the days when aluminum bodied flashlights with three D cell batteries dominated the market. Nowadays there are as many types of flashlights as there are possible uses for them, and with advancements in lighting technology continually growing, the variety increases. [...]
Confined Space Lighting for Hazardous Locations
Confined spaces represent some of the most dangerous work places in commercial industries. Because of their enclosed nature confined spaces are poorly ventilated and allow volatile gases, fumes, vapors, and particulates to accumulate and increase in atmospheric density to potentially explosive levels. Confined spaces represent a hazardous work area and are loosely defined by a few general characteristics. [...]
