The GAU-EMG-18H-1L-LED Outdoor Emergency LED Light from Larson Electronics offers powerful illumination during critical operations in outdoor environments. This marine rated unit features an impact/shock resistant no-glass, polycarbonate T8 LED lamp that is attached to the bottom of a weatherproof, NEMA 3 enclosure. The emergency backup light operates on 120-277V AC (universal) and is supported by a 35aH battery, which offers a runtime of 18 hours. A test switch is available for operational testing. Hardwiring is possible via a 3/4" NPT hub on the side of the enclosure.
The GAU-EMG-18H-1L-LED is a T8 tube style lamp that produces 1,750 lumens of white light with a color temperature of 5,600K while consuming 14 watts. The unit may be mounted on walls at various heights for elevated illumination. A 35aH battery supports the lamp when power from an electrical source is not available, allowing continuous operation for up to 18 hours. An accessible test switch ensures reliable operation. Operators may hardwire to this fixture via a 3/4" NPT hub. The enclosure is NEMA 3 rated for weatherproof protection and comes with a security lock/key.
This unit clearly and directly illuminates work areas while eliminating dark spots and shadows, making it ideal for outdoor work environments where bright uniform light and excellent color rendering are crucial to completing tasks safely. The luminary is available in either a diffused lens or clear lens.
The GAU-EMG-18H-1L-LED is designed to withstand the challenges and rigors of wet environments and harsh conditions, including extreme temperature changes. With a tough, shatter resistant polycarbonate lens, this compact and rugged IP66 rated light can withstand high pressure jets in washdown areas such as those found in food preparation and sanitation operations.
LED Benefits: Unlike gas burning and arc type lamps that have glass bulbs, LEDs have no filaments or fragile housings to break during operation and/or transportation. Instead of heating a small filament or using a combination of gases to produce light, light emitting diodes (LEDs) use semi-conductive materials that illuminate when electric current is applied, providing instant illumination with no warm up or cool down time before re-striking. Because there is no warm up period, this light can be cycled on and off with no reduction in lamp life.

No extra energy is wasted in cooling enclosed work areas due to external heat emissions from bulb type lights, and the operator risks associated with traditional lighting methods, such as accidental burns and exposure to hazardous substances contained in the glass bulbs, are eliminated. In addition, LEDs are also safer for the environment as they are 100% recyclable, which eliminates the need for costly special disposal services required with traditional gas burning and arc type lamps.
