Extending String Lights to 1 mile for Tunnel Lighting Applications

Providing adequate lighting in tunnel applications has long been an issue. Explosion Proof String Lights and general application light stringers have had limits on length, and how many stringers can be connected together. New designs are enabling users to link multiple strings together, or provide sufficient illumination with a single, high-output stringer.

Traditional string lights are constructed with 3-conductor wiring, which limits the number of strings that can be run together, and contributes to a decrease in power the further down the line you go. The WAL-SL-51-LED-12.4 is designed and constructed to overcome both of these issues. The 4-conductor wire is comprised of 2 Hot Wires, 1 Neutral, and 1 Ground wire. On the WAL-SL-51-LED-12.4, the hot wires are alternated on every other light in the string. Running on 277V, these light strings can be daisy-chained together, reaching a distance of over 1 mile. Each of the 51 high-output A19 -style LED bulbs screws into an E26 type socket, and is protected by a bird cage style guard – reducing energy and replacement costs. Designed with an eyelet hook for mounting, these string lights are suitable for wet areas, are extremely long lived, and are resistant to damage from impacts and vibrations.

Industrial users are always searching for more efficient solutions to their lighting needs. Temporary Tunnel String Lights are now built with the newest lighting technologies, stronger wiring and plugs, and will outlast and outperform similar string lights from the past.
