High powered spotlight, vehicle
mounted, 24V system is vehicle powered, controlled by gunner, and used to grab a
subject's attention. This hand magnetic spotlight is effective for
semi-permanent mounting and handheld use. The 100 pound grip magnet base
holds the light in place on protective barriers and gun turrets on the military
HUMVEE and other vehicles, even under the most aggressive road and off-road
conditions.
24 volt Spotlights.
24 volt spotlights with magnetic mount bases designed and/or adapted for military application on the HUMVEE,

Magnetic Light 5M (HML-5M) 24 volt Spotlight
Larson Electronics produces the Magnalight 24 volt spotlight with
magnetic base for use on the military vehicles. Larson Electronics builds and
stocks the Hand Held Magnetic Light 5M (HML-5M) 24 volt magnetic spotlight. This
24 volt spotlight with magnetic base version features a black lamp housing,
black powder coated steel handle and solid black polypropylene handle. The
HML-5M magnetic 24 volt spotlight also features a 21 foot, 16 AWG cord for
direct battery connection via battery clamps and/or battery ring terminal
connectors. The HML-5M 24 volt magnetic spotlight can remain connected directly
and permanently to the battery beneath the passenger seat even under severe
vibratory conditions.
Hand Held Magnetic Light 24 volt magnetic spotlight
HML-5M
The new Hand Magnetic Light 24 volt magnetic spotlight HML-5M also
features a longer steel powder coated handle structure which enables the light
to move up and down a full 180 degrees. The HML-5 series 24 volt spotlight with
magnetic base projects upwards even when in close proximity to targets, while
continuing to provide several hundred feet of illumination at distance. The 100
pound grip magnetic base of this spotlight is strong enough to remain in place
during movement and vibration, but enables users to move the light to another
location or vehicle.
The HML-5M 24 volt spotlight with magnetic base complements the
existing HML-5C 24 volt spotlight which comes with a black housing, black powder
coated steel frame and 21 foot 16 AWG cord with battery clamps. The HML-5A is
the chrome version of the HML-5C. All 24 volt spotlights with magnetic bases are
designed for the 24 volt systems available in the military HUMVEE, HMMWV,
Bradley and FOX reconnaissance vehicles.
The 24 volt magnetic spotlight can be used to identify targets and

SERE kit component. Military personnel, including Air Force pilots, Navy
SPAWAR, Navy Seals and Special Operations personnel conceal this unique key
in their clothing or on their person. When in a hostage situation, the
undetectable, non-metallic key can be silently
removed and deployed to free themselves from any brand of handcuff in the

In 2004, Larson Electronics adapted the 12 volt Magnalight
spotlight, producing the HML-5M (HML-5C). This 24 volt military approved
spotlight comes with either flood lamp or spot lamp and a very strong 3.25 inch
diameter magnetic base. Delivering multi-million candle power output, this
spotlight features a 21 foot cord and either ring terminal connectors or battery
clamps for direct battery connection. Originally specified, tested and approved
by Camp Pendleton, this unit has been popular with every branch of the US
military and is widely used in Iraq and Afghanistan in the HUMVEEs, Bradleys,
1088s, FOX recon vehicles and other armored patrol vehicles.
The Magnalight spotlights come standard with a 140 degree
hinge base and an 80 pound grip magnet. The magnetic base enables operators to
place the light semi-permanently on gun mounts, etc. for optimal illumination
and/or blinding of targets. While the lights stay put during action, they can be
moved to different vehicles and removed for storage very easily. These unique
magnetic bases are tough enough to keep the light in place during heavy fire and
intense terrain maneuvers. The Magnalights project a strong, white beam nearly
500 feet, which makes them ideal for locating IEDs and other risks.
The 2-pin SAE connector enables a secure, weatherproof
connection to a variety of cords, including the standard cigarette plug, ring
terminal connections and battery clamps. Larson Electronics can adapt the
configuration of the spotlight, including handle, frame, switch, wiring and base
to adapt to custom specifications. The Magnalight spotlight is now used in mine
sweeper applications, patrol boats, and in permanent gun mount applications
because of this custom build characteristic. The 2-pin SAE connector enables
units to move the spotlight to different vehicles, equipped with battery
connected cords, which is ideal for quick and easy vehicle transfer, training
missions, etc.
In 2006, Larson Electronics released the high intensity
discharge Xenon lamp in the HML-6M (HML-6C). This light projects an intense
white beam nearly 2,000 feet with less than 4 amps (compared to 500 feet with
the HML-5M). Equipped with 5.5 inch diameter 160 pound grip magnet, this
spotlight is designed to produce a blinding light, with no dark spots at great
distances. This ballast controlled light operates at 12 and 24 volts natively
and comes with the same cord options as the HML-5M and HML-5C. This light offers
spot and flood lamp options, and features arc lamp technology. These HID bulbs
do not have filament. Instead, the ballast fires a strong arc across a glass
tube filled with Xenon gas. The gas ignites and the ballast maintains the
burning gas. Without a filament to break, these bulbs are much more durable in
high vibration environments than traditional halogen bulbs.
The HID spotlight with magnetic swivel base complements the
existing line of HID flashlights, the LPL-24 and LPL-14. Projecting light to a
distance of 2,800 feet these “Maglite” style flashlights contain a lithium ion
battery, providing a run time of 90 minutes on a single 2 hour charge from a
12/24 volt rapid charger. These durable lights feature a anodized aluminum
casing and come in a 24 watt (1300 lumens) and 14 watt (860 lumens)
configuration in a variety of lengths depending on switch selection.
Larson Electronics also outfits its utility, commercial and
military customers with a complete line of remote control spotlights. The
GL-7951-24 is a wireless remote control spotlight with magnetic base. Projecting
light to a distance of 800 feet, this motorized spotlight rotates a full 370
degrees and tilts 140 degrees. Controlled with a radio based remote control,
this unit can be operated remotely at a distance of 150 feet. The remote
controlled spotlight is portable and has a strong magnetic base, making it ideal
for a variety of semi-permanent mounting applications.The GL-3049-24 is the
latest version, featuring a wireless handheld and dash mount remote control. For
radio frequency sensitive applications, the portable GL-5149, with magnetic
base, features a wired handheld remote control. The GL-2020-B is a permanent
mount spotlight with a dash mounted joystick style remote control. These remote
controlled spotlights are extremely durable and come with a variety of mounting
options, remote control options and infrared lenses.Several of these remote
control spotlights have existing NSN numbers.
